Unquestionably, in Sierra Tarahumara, there are natural scenarios that take your breath away.

It’s extraordinary to appreciate these unforgettable landscapes and its famous canyons, as well as the hotel offers in Barrancas del Cobre.

If you are a very demanding person, we guarantee that your tastes will be very satisfied.

Something about the history of this hotel

The ”Posada del Hidalgo” Hotel was built in 1890, by Rafael Almada, and it took him five years to complete it.

There is also a lot of history of the materials he used for the structure: the blacksmith parts brought from Mazatlan, and the red pine from the 285 beams brought from Canada.

It is said that this was the place where Diego de la Vega (known as ”El Zorro”) was born.

What will you find in your facilities?

The style of the hotel is colonial.

The “Old House” section owns about 12 rooms, a very tropical garden, high ceilings, and two balconies.

What has nothing to do with the colonial era are its services:

  • Don Diego’s outdoor restaurant with the best of Mexican cuisine,
  • Spa hydrotherapy
  • ”Zorro Bar”, with the best selection of national drinks.
  • meeting rooms and pool.

Not to be missed

Do not forget to see the artifacts and interesting historical documents in the hotel, as well as the gardens.

Apart from this, the hotel offers a lot of activities, such as rafting trips along El Fuerte River and tours to indigenous Mayan villages.

Lastly, you will enjoy the Happy Hour of Zorro (being the character in question the host), which promises lots of laughter and live music.

Undoubtedly, the Hotel Posada del Hidalgo is among the best hotels in Copper Canyon.
